ARTS GLACERHI residency program has been initiated for a couple of years now. Our facility in the Himalayas is at Andretta, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, India. Our initiative is to encourage the interaction of artists with nature, ecology and recycling awareness. In the face of natural challenges through a fast depletion of natural resources we feel responsible to foster an awareness and empathy with nature. With this in mind we aim to encourage a platform for artists with such inclinations to engage with inspiring perspectives that provokes critical enquiry and constructive interactions. This would be the foundation for an innovative community of artists committed to take on the pressing environmental issues of our times.
A number of residency programs were conducted with junior artists at our erstwhile facility near Suraj Kund, Faridabad, NCR Delhi, India. Now we are aiming to expand the focus in the Himalayas with a focus on environment.
